QWO Cellulite Treatmentin Atlanta

What is QWO cellulite treatment?

QWO is a non-surgical treatment that reduces moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks and thighs of adult women. QWO is the first FDA-Approved cellulite treatment that uses prescription medication to dissolve the fibrous bands that cause cellulite.

QWO is among the specialized cosmetic procedures offered to patients at Nip & Tuck Plastic Surgery in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Nicholas I. Jones is double board-certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and The American Board of Surgery. He and his highly trained team of expert nurse injectors use treatments like QWO to provide cellulite treatment with unrivaled results. You are warmly invited to schedule a consultation at Nip & Tuck Plastic Surgery so we can help you determine if QWO is right for you.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite produces a dimpled, wavy, “cottage cheese” appearance in your buttocks or thighs. The dimpling is often a result of fibrous bands known medically as fibrous septae. These bands can contract and lock in place, causing dimples where the fat around them bulges. No matter how much you work out or diet, it can be challenging to lose enough weight to get rid of the visible signs of cellulite.

How does QWO work?

QWO (pronounced “kwoh”) contains two types of enzymes that treat the fibrous bands that connect the skin to the muscle. QWO unlocks these bands, allowing your skin to float up and smoothen.

The minimally-invasive QWO treatment is usually administered in three rounds of injections, spaced 21 days apart. The active enzymes in the treatments are contained in a clear, odorless liquid mixture that is injected by our expert nurse injectors through tiny needles into the cellulite-producing fibrous bands.

While cellulite is much more prominent among women, men can also develop cellulite, which can be treated using QWO.

Are you a candidate for QWO?

Ideal candidates have cellulite caused directly by fibrous bands of connective tissue, producing “tight” divots. QWO is not designed to correct generic skin laxity or sagging in the thighs and buttocks.

Does QWO carry risks and possible side effects?

QWO is FDA-approved and considered a very safe procedure. With studies on hundreds of patients who have undergone a total of more than a thousand treatments, QWO comes with a small range of risks that include bruising, areas of hardness, itching, redness, discoloration, swelling, and warmth on and near the treatment area.

Rarely, allergic and hypersensitivity reactions have been reported. Following treatment, call your doctor immediately if you have hives, trouble breathing, a swollen face, chest pain, dizziness, or fainting, as you may be allergic to the treatment.

Preparing for your QWO cellulite treatment

During your pre-procedure consultation, our trained nurse injectors will ask for a detailed medical history. We will need to know if you have a bleeding problem and list all of your allergies, as well as all medications and supplements you are taking. Also, let your provider know if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Your QWO procedure

QWO treatments require no anesthesia. Our skilled nurse injectors deliver the medicine directly into your cellulite dimples through tiny needles that are relatively painless and take as little as ten minutes. A half-hour after your treatment, you can walk out of your doctor’s office and resume normal activities.

QWO Recovery

Post-procedure soreness can be soothed with Tylenol or ibuprofen. You may experience some bruising and swelling that can last up to two weeks following your injections. Try to take it easy for a few days since exercise can increase localized bruising.

QWO Results

Since Atlanta QWO patients generally receive three treatments 21 days apart, it may take up to ten weeks for you to see results. You can expect to see substantial improvement, and your results should last for up to several years.

Currently, there are no scientifically supported natural remedies to permanently reduce cellulite. Losing weight, while generally beneficial, will not cure or reduce cellulite caused by fibrous bands. Cellulite is heavily influenced by genetics. Anyone can struggle with cellulite, regardless of body weight or BMI.

QWO FAQs

Will I experience bruising after my QWO treatment?

In clinical trials, most women who experienced bruising following their first treatment saw reduced bruising in subsequent treatments. Most bruising resolved in fewer than 21 days.

How many women have participated in QWO studies?

QWO has been rigorously studied in clinical studies, with more than 1800 women participating. QWO received FDA approval for the injectable treatment of cellulite.

How much does QWO cost?

Costs can vary depending on the number of cellulite dimples injected. Twelve to 24 dimples are generally treated at each session, resulting in a price range between $1,800 and $3,200. Since QWO is a cosmetic procedure, your insurance will not pay for it. You will get a more specific estimate based on your procedure during your consultation.

How long does QWO last?

That question has yet to be answered. QWO is still a relatively new treatment, and longitudinal studies have not yet noticed a reduction in effectiveness following treatment. This is a promising sign, as it means QWO treatment could be a permanent way to reduce or eliminate cellulite.
